History

1998
Founded Mindware Limited Partnership.
Aiming to computerize the “concept research method” he had published in engineering and management journals the previous year, he began researching Kohonen’s self-organizing map.
2000
Viscovery SOMine has been released in Japanese.

2022
The company moved to Okayama City and moved into the incubation facility e-Plaza in Okayama Prefecture.

2003
Partnered with Addsinsoft and Hugin Expert.

2004
Mindware Limited Liability Company was established and the business of Mindware Limited Partnership was transferred to it.

2004
The office was relocated to Nakasange, Kita-ku, Okayama City.

2005
Partnered with Dimension5 (Miner3D).

2008
Company name changed to Mindware Research Institute Co., Ltd.

2009
Moved to Okayama Station (Orix Okayama Building).

2011
Moved to Terminal Square, Ekimotocho, Kita-ku, Okayama City.

2023
Following the sale of Addinsoft, we have discontinued handling XLSTAT, which we had been doing for 20 years.

2024
We have begun providing qualitative information analysis solutions that utilize LLMs (large-scale language models) such as OpenAI. Concept Map, which combines LLMs with SOMs and BBNs, has achieved our original goal of computerizing “concept research.”

2025
Based on the experiments conducted with Concept Map, we developed ConceptMiner as a unique web application. Instead of SOM, we use our own fuzzy growth batch neural gas + MST (minimum spanning tree) to build a topological concept structure network.
