1. Evidence (primary)

EntityText / claimWhy relevant
Intercom Fin MCP workflowAttributedR5/C4In 2025, Intercom made Fin an MCP client able to turn customer reports into actions such as filing bugs in Linear. This closes the gap between conversational support and cross-system execution without a bespoke connector for every tool.MCP-enabled support agents can convert customer conversations into traceable engineering actions.P5 applies to Fin’s breakthrough from answering questions to executing a practical feedback-to-bug workflow. S3 applies to MCP, the shared connector protocol being adopted across Intercom, Linear, Claude and other vendors.
Zapier Integration for ClaudeAttributedR5/C4In 2025, Zapier connected thousands of application workflows to Claude through a remote MCP server. A user could retrieve HubSpot sales data and combine it with calendar context to prepare meeting briefs conversationally. One MCP integration can expose a broad automation estate to a research agent.P5 applies to the practical breakthrough of combining research, enterprise data retrieval and workflow execution in one conversation. S3 is the emerging MCP interface shared by Zapier, Claude and many other agent hosts.
Atlassian Jira and Confluence MCP integrationAttributedR5/C4In 2025, Atlassian exposed Jira and Confluence workflows to Claude through MCP. The integration lets an agent summarize and create multiple pages and work items across product-management systems.A connected agent can coordinate documentation and issue management as one workflow.P5 applies to the cross-application product-operations workflow that replaces repeated copying and manual handoffs. S3 applies to MCP as the common interface between Atlassian services and independently developed AI clients.
Claude Code with Sentry MCPAttributedR5/C4In 2025, Claude Code added remote MCP support and demonstrated retrieving live Sentry errors while debugging. This gives a coding agent operational evidence from production rather than only repository context.Production telemetry can be brought directly into an autonomous debugging loop.P5 applies to linking code modification with current production-error evidence, a key step toward practical autonomous debugging. S3 applies to remote MCP as a reusable interface between coding agents and observability vendors.
Claude Code with Linear MCPAttributedR5/C4In 2025, Linear’s remote MCP server brought project issues and status directly into Claude Code. Engineers could move between planning, implementation and issue updates without manually reconstructing context.Coding agents can maintain continuity between project planning and code execution.P5 applies to the practical joining of planning records and agentic coding in one working loop. S3 applies to MCP as the shared protocol independently implemented by Linear and multiple coding-agent hosts.
Figma MCP connectorAttributedR4/C4In 2025, Figma joined Anthropic’s connector directory with an MCP connector supporting design-to-code workflows. Structured design context can therefore reach coding agents without a Figma-specific integration inside every host.Design artifacts can become standardized machine-readable context for coding agents.P5 applies to reducing a major practical break between visual design and generated implementation. S3 applies to MCP becoming the common connector layer used by Figma and multiple AI applications.
Stripe MCP connectorAttributedR4/C4In 2025, Stripe became available as a remote connector through Anthropic’s MCP directory. Agents could inspect payment and customer information through the same protocol used for other enterprise tools.Payment data can participate in cross-application agent workflows through a reusable connector contract.P5 applies to making payment operations accessible within practical conversational workflows while retaining an authenticated service boundary. S3 applies to MCP’s cross-vendor connector model rather than a Claude-only Stripe plug-in format.
Microsoft Copilot Studio MCP integrationAttributedR5/C5Microsoft made MCP support generally available in Copilot Studio in May 2025. Agents can discover external actions and knowledge automatically and remain synchronized when an MCP server changes.Low-code enterprise agents can consume dynamically maintained external tool catalogs.P5 applies to eliminating manual connector upkeep that blocked scalable low-code agent deployment. S3 applies to Microsoft adopting the Anthropic-originated MCP specification as a common external interface.
Amazon Bedrock AgentCore GatewayAttributedR5/C5AWS introduced AgentCore Gateway in 2025 to convert REST APIs, OpenAPI definitions and Lambda functions into governed MCP tools. It added authorization, semantic tool discovery and serverless scaling for production agents.Existing enterprise APIs can be exposed to heterogeneous AI agents without rebuilding each integration.P5 applies to overcoming security, discovery and deployment barriers that kept MCP tool use in prototypes. S3 applies to AWS building managed infrastructure around MCP and A2A instead of promoting a wholly proprietary agent interface.
Innovaccer Gravity HMCP agentsAttributedR5/C4In 2025, Innovaccer described using Bedrock AgentCore to turn healthcare APIs into HMCP-compatible tools for clinical agents. Its implementation combines patient-context controls, authentication and multi-agent workflows with more than 400 healthcare connectors.Healthcare agents can access clinical workflows through a governed extension of a general agent-tool protocol.P5 applies to adding healthcare-specific identity, patient context and governance needed for practical clinical agents. S3 applies to HMCP reusing MCP plus SMART on FHIR rather than creating an isolated integration stack.
Google Cloud Healthcare MCP ServersAttributedR5/C4Google Cloud published ten open-source MCP servers giving agents structured access to NIH, FDA, CMS and NLM data. The servers run inside the adopter’s cloud tenant with caching, retries and rate controls for biomedical workflows.Authoritative public-health sources can be reused as portable tools across different agent hosts.P5 applies to converting fragmented government health interfaces into deployment-ready agent tools with operational controls. S3 applies to MCP as the common client-server contract and established public-health APIs as shared data foundations.
ServiceNow AI Agents for Service ObservabilityAttributedR5/C4In 2025, ServiceNow connected its service-observability agents with Google Gemini agents to detect, investigate and recommend fixes for cloud incidents. The cross-platform collaboration is enabled by ServiceNow AI Agent Fabric and A2A.Agents from different vendors can cooperate across incident detection, investigation and remediation planning.P5 applies to a practical multi-agent incident-response chain spanning previously separate platforms. S3 applies to A2A, backed by ServiceNow, Google and a broad Linux Foundation ecosystem as a shared agent communication protocol.
Twilio Latency Aware Agent SelectionAttributedR5/C4In 2025, Twilio extended A2A so agents could advertise latency and tasks could be routed to the most responsive agent. The system can also adapt the user experience when only a slower agent is available.Standardized agent metadata can support real-time routing rather than static orchestration.P5 applies to solving the latency-selection problem that impedes practical multi-agent voice and messaging experiences. S3 applies to Twilio extending the shared A2A protocol instead of defining an incompatible routing interface.
Red Hat Lightspeed Agent for Google CloudAttributedR5/C4Red Hat released a Lightspeed agent that lets administrators manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux on Google Cloud through natural language. Built on A2A and Gemini, it connects operating-system expertise with cloud-management agents.Natural-language infrastructure administration can cross vendor and platform boundaries through agent interoperability.P5 applies to joining specialized Linux administration and cloud operations in a practical conversational workflow. S3 applies to A2A as the shared communication base between Red Hat and Google’s agent ecosystem.
Agentforce Sales for Gemini EnterpriseAttributedR4/C3Salesforce made Agentforce Sales available in Gemini Enterprise to engage leads, prepare meetings, identify deal risks and update CRM records. The integration places specialized sales actions inside a cross-vendor agent environment.Sales work can be delegated across a general assistant and a specialized CRM agent without changing interfaces.P5 applies to completing a multi-step sales workflow across assistant and CRM boundaries. S3 applies to the A2A-based Gemini Enterprise ecosystem and its multi-vendor agent-discovery model.
S&P Global Data Retrieval Agent by KenshoAttributedR4/C3S&P Global’s Kensho agent became available in Gemini Enterprise for cited earnings-call analysis, market research and financial-metric retrieval. It brings proprietary financial evidence into a broader enterprise agent workspace.Specialized licensed-data agents can provide source-grounded results to general enterprise assistants.P5 applies to retaining citations and specialist data access while making financial research callable from a general agent environment. S3 applies to the A2A-oriented Gemini Enterprise ecosystem connecting independently operated agents.
Workday Self-Service Agent for Gemini EnterpriseAttributedR4/C3Workday connected its Self-Service Agent to Gemini Enterprise for budget alerts, leave requests, HR cases and pay information. Employees can invoke these specialized actions from a shared assistant instead of navigating separate systems.Employee-service transactions can be completed through interoperable general and specialist agents.P5 applies to moving from HR question answering to practical authenticated actions across systems. S3 applies to the A2A-enabled partner ecosystem used to expose vendor agents through a common enterprise interface.
Google Cloud multi-agent business forecasting systemAttributedR5/C4Google Cloud documented a forecasting system in which specialized agents collaborate on business predictions through A2A. The architecture separates forecasting and contextual reasoning while allowing independently built agents to exchange tasks and results.Modular agents can combine quantitative forecasting with contextual business analysis.P5 applies to a working architecture that overcomes the brittleness of one monolithic forecasting agent. S3 applies to A2A as the common communication layer between specialized agents and deployment environments.
PayPal and Google Cloud agentic commerce solutionAttributedR5/C4In October 2025, PayPal and Google Cloud announced merchant agents that coordinate purchasing and payment through A2A and AP2. Cryptographically signed mandates provide evidence of user intent while merchants retain control of the customer experience.Autonomous shopping agents can complete payments with portable authorization and audit evidence.P5 applies to the trust and authorization mechanism that unlocks practical agent-initiated commerce. S3 applies to A2A, MCP and AP2 forming a multi-company protocol family supported by payments and technology firms.
Claude Financial Analysis SolutionAttributedR5/C4In 2025, Anthropic introduced a financial-research solution that unifies market feeds, internal data and source-linked analysis through prebuilt MCP connectors. Its cited example included a FundamentalLabs Excel agent scoring 83 percent on complex spreadsheet tasks.Financial agents can combine advanced spreadsheet reasoning with portable access to licensed and internal data.P5 applies to source-verifiable analysis across heterogeneous finance systems rather than isolated chat or spreadsheet generation. S3 applies to MCP as the common connector interface used by financial-data and enterprise-platform providers.

2. Themes (same development subject)

Themes group evidence about the same concrete development subject—not meta-abstractions.

ThemeInterpretationSocial valueNext Q
Customer conversations that trigger operational follow-throughHypothesisE001 demonstrates a breakthrough application loop in which a customer report becomes an engineering record, while MCP supplies the reusable cross-vendor action interface.Faster issue resolution, fewer lost customer reports and clearer accountability between support and engineering. Can human approval and rollback be standardized for customer-triggered actions? / How much does automated issue creation reduce resolution time without increasing duplicates?
Continuous software delivery across planning, design, code and telemetryHypothesisE003-E006 form one development subject: closing context breaks across the software lifecycle, enabled by MCP rather than separate proprietary plug-ins.Less repetitive coordination, faster debugging and improved accessibility of software creation for smaller teams.Which software artifacts require immutable provenance before an agent may edit them? / Can shared evaluation suites measure end-to-end delivery quality rather than code generation alone?
Enterprise automation without rebuilding every connectorHypothesisE002, E008 and E009 show practical breakthroughs in connector scale, synchronization and governance, while MCP becomes the common base across Anthropic, Microsoft, AWS and automation vendors.Lower integration costs and wider access to automation for organizations without large specialist engineering teams. Will MCP gateways reduce total integration maintenance after security and observability costs are included? / What portability tests are needed to prove that one server behaves consistently across agent hosts?
Governed clinical and public-health agentsHypothesisE010 and E011 address the same application need from complementary directions: governed clinical-system access and portable access to public health evidence.Safer clinical automation, faster research and more equitable access to authoritative health information.Which HMCP controls are implemented and independently validated rather than only specified? / Can clinical provenance and consent travel across multi-agent handoffs without leaking patient context?
Cross-vendor agents for reliable IT operationsHypothesisE012-E014 show application breakthroughs where no single agent owns all required telemetry or expertise, making A2A interoperability materially useful.Shorter outages, reduced administrator workload and more resilient digital services. How should responsibility be assigned when cooperating agents recommend a harmful remediation? / Can A2A latency, reliability and authorization metadata support deterministic operational policies?
Source-grounded sales and financial workHypothesisE015, E016 and E020 share the goal of producing decisions and actions grounded in controlled business data, while MCP and A2A reduce host-specific integration.Faster research, better evidence trails and broader access to high-quality business analysis.Do citations remain accurate after information passes through multiple agents? / Which financial actions should require deterministic controls rather than model-based authorization?
Employee self-service that completes workplace transactionsHypothesisE017 is a distinct workplace-service application in which a general interface delegates transactions to a specialized Workday agent through an interoperable ecosystem.Reduced administrative burden, quicker employee support and easier access for workers unfamiliar with complex HR systems. How can employees preview, correct and revoke agent-submitted HR transactions? / Will interoperability improve access for multilingual and disabled employees?
Collaborative agents for business forecastingHypothesisE018 provides a working reference architecture where A2A removes the need to place all forecasting and reasoning capabilities inside one model or framework.More adaptable planning for inventories, staffing, budgets and supply disruptions.Does agent decomposition improve forecast accuracy or mainly maintainability? / How should uncertainty be represented and preserved across A2A messages?
Authorized agentic commerce and paymentsHypothesisE007 and E019 show two layers of the same development path: MCP-accessible payment services and AP2 mandates for trustworthy cross-organizational transactions.More convenient purchasing while preserving user intent, merchant control, fraud defenses and auditability. How will users set spending limits and revoke standing agent mandates? / Can AP2 mandates interoperate across competing wallets, card networks and jurisdictions?

If you select one of the suggested follow-up questions, further research will be conducted to return results like the following.

Follow-up request:
Which named applications have measured outcome improvements beyond vendor demonstrations, such as reduced incident time, support resolution time or integration cost?

Please answer in the concept-exploration style: named concrete cases, keep P and S on possibly different subjects (new use vs shared base), and propose further questions if useful.

Answer:

Follow-up finding

Named production applications with measured outcomes do exist, but the evidence is uneven. The strongest evidence is concentrated in bounded tasks—customer support, coding, document review and employee service—rather than in fully autonomous, cross-vendor agent systems.

It is useful to separate:

  • P5 subject: the new operational use and the outcome being improved.
  • S3 subject: the reusable technical base—retrieval, workflow execution, connectors, authorization, telemetry and human escalation.

The same P5 application may use several S3 components, while the same S3 base can support many unrelated applications.

1. Uber COTA — customer-support resolution

Named application: COTA, Uber’s Customer Obsession Ticket Assistant
Operational status: Deployed in Uber customer support; described in a KDD paper rather than only a product demonstration.

Measured result

  • Approximately 10% reduction in ticket-resolution time was reported after deployment.
  • The system classified incoming tickets and recommended relevant responses or actions to support agents.

P5 subject

Reduce the time required to resolve customer-support tickets by turning unstructured customer messages into recommended operational actions.

S3 subject

A reusable support-automation base consisting of:

  • ticket classification,
  • retrieval and ranking of candidate solutions,
  • agent-facing recommendations,
  • feedback from agent selection,
  • integration with the ticket-management system.

Why it matters

COTA is an important precursor to current agentic support systems. Its value did not come from unrestricted conversation, but from connecting language interpretation to a finite set of operational remedies.

Evidence quality: Relatively strong. Production deployment plus peer-reviewed technical reporting.

Primary reference: COTA: Improving the Speed and Accuracy of Customer Support through Ranking and Deep Networks, KDD 2018.

2. Klarna AI Assistant — customer conversations with follow-through

Named application: Klarna AI Assistant, developed with OpenAI
Operational status: Large-scale production use rather than a laboratory demonstration.

Reported result during its initial deployment

  • Handled about two-thirds of customer-service conversations.
  • Average resolution time reportedly fell from approximately 11 minutes to under 2 minutes.
  • Repeat inquiries reportedly decreased by 25%.
  • Klarna estimated workload equivalent to roughly 700 full-time agents and a projected financial contribution of about US$40 million in 2024.

P5 subject

Resolve payment, refund and account-service inquiries through conversation, including the actions needed to complete the request.

S3 subject

  • LLM-based dialogue,
  • access to customer and transaction context,
  • retrieval from service policies,
  • workflow/API calls,
  • multilingual operation,
  • escalation to human staff.

Important limitation

These are production measurements, but they were publicly reported by Klarna and OpenAI. The comparison methodology, case mix and quality-adjustment procedure were not independently disclosed in enough detail to treat the figures as causal estimates.

Evidence quality: Strong evidence of real use; moderate evidence of attributable improvement.

3. GitHub Copilot — continuous software work

Named application: GitHub Copilot
Operational status: Widely deployed; studied in controlled and enterprise settings.

Measured results

A controlled study found that developers using Copilot completed a defined coding task approximately 55.8% faster than the control group. An enterprise evaluation at Accenture also reported increases in development activity, including roughly:

  • 8.7% more pull requests, and
  • approximately 15% higher pull-request merge rates

among measured users, although enterprise results depend heavily on adoption and task selection.

P5 subject

Shorten the cycle from a software requirement or coding intention to working code.

S3 subject

  • code-aware foundation model,
  • repository and editor context,
  • IDE integration,
  • suggestion acceptance telemetry,
  • software-development workflow integration.

Why it matters

The shared base is not “an autonomous software engineer.” It is a context-injection and interaction layer embedded in the developer’s existing environment. That base can later be extended toward testing, code review, incident diagnosis and deployment.

Evidence quality: Controlled evidence exists, but some studies were conducted or sponsored by GitHub/Microsoft. Stronger than a demonstration, but not fully independent.

4. Microsoft 365 Copilot — cross-application knowledge work

Named application: Microsoft 365 Copilot
Operational status: Large organizational trials, including public-sector deployment.

A UK government trial involving roughly 20,000 civil servants reported an average self-estimated saving of about 26 minutes per user per day. Users reported the largest gains in drafting, summarization, meeting processing and information retrieval.

P5 subject

Reduce time spent locating organizational information and converting it into documents, summaries and communications.

S3 subject

  • identity-aware access,
  • enterprise search and retrieval,
  • Microsoft Graph,
  • document and meeting context,
  • application-level permissions,
  • audit and compliance controls.

Important limitation

Much of the measured saving was self-reported rather than obtained from randomized task telemetry. It therefore shows perceived operational value but does not establish the same causal confidence as a controlled experiment.

Evidence quality: Large real-world deployment; moderate-to-weak causal evidence.

5. IBM AskHR — employee self-service that completes transactions

Named application: AskHR, IBM’s internal AI-based HR service
Operational status: Long-running internal production system.

IBM has reported that AskHR:

  • handles a large majority of routine employee inquiries without direct HR intervention,
  • supports more than a million employee interactions annually,
  • and contributed to substantial reductions in HR support cost and workload.

Public IBM materials have cited automation or containment rates around 90% or above for supported request types, although the exact number varies by reporting period and definition.

P5 subject

Allow employees to complete routine workplace requests—such as employment verification, compensation questions and policy inquiries—without opening an HR case.

S3 subject

  • conversational intent recognition,
  • employee identity and authorization,
  • HR knowledge retrieval,
  • connections to systems of record,
  • transaction workflows,
  • escalation and case creation.

Why it matters

AskHR shows that the decisive step is not answering an HR question. It is securely connecting the answer to the employee’s identity and, where appropriate, completing the transaction.

Evidence quality: Clear production evidence, but outcome figures are mainly company-reported.

6. JPMorgan COiN — source-grounded financial document work

Named application: Contract Intelligence, or COiN
Operational status: Production document-analysis system at JPMorgan Chase.

Measured result

JPMorgan reported that COiN performed work associated with reviewing commercial-loan agreements that had previously consumed about 360,000 staff hours per year, while also reducing some forms of manual error.

P5 subject

Extract legally and financially significant provisions from contracts and loan documents.

S3 subject

  • document ingestion and OCR,
  • clause recognition,
  • structured extraction,
  • validation rules,
  • links to financial workflows,
  • human review for exceptions.

Why it matters

COiN predates the current generation of LLM agents, but it is a useful control case. It demonstrates that large outcomes can come from a narrow, measurable workflow rather than from general conversational intelligence.

Evidence quality: Strong evidence of production use; savings estimate was company-reported and not independently audited in public.

7. Vodafone TOBi — telecom customer-service automation

Named application: TOBi, Vodafone’s digital customer assistant
Operational status: Production use across multiple Vodafone markets.

Vodafone has reported millions of monthly conversations and, in some deployments, automated resolution or containment rates around 70% for supported request categories. The assistant has been connected to account and service processes rather than operating only as a FAQ interface.

P5 subject

Resolve telecom account, billing and service requests without requiring customers to navigate separate applications or wait for an agent.

S3 subject

  • reusable conversational layer,
  • customer identity and account context,
  • CRM and billing connectors,
  • service-diagnostic workflows,
  • market-specific knowledge,
  • human handoff.

Important limitation

Public results differ by country, period and definition of “resolved.” Most outcome reports come from Vodafone or its technology suppliers.

Evidence quality: Strong deployment evidence; moderate outcome-comparison evidence.

8. Morgan Stanley AI @ Morgan Stanley Assistant — governed source-grounded advice support

Named application: AI @ Morgan Stanley Assistant
Operational status: Rolled out to financial advisers.

Morgan Stanley reported adoption by roughly 98% of adviser teams after rollout. The application provides answers grounded in the firm’s approved research and internal documents. Later applications also generated meeting summaries and draft follow-up communications.

P5 subject

Help financial advisers retrieve approved institutional knowledge and convert meetings into compliant follow-up work.

S3 subject

  • retrieval-augmented generation,
  • restricted document collections,
  • entitlement checking,
  • citations and source traceability,
  • compliance controls,
  • adviser review before external use.

Important limitation

Adoption is well documented, but public evidence of reduced handling time, increased sales or improved advice quality is limited. This is therefore stronger evidence for acceptance and governance than for economic impact.

Evidence quality: Strong evidence of production adoption; limited public outcome measurement.

9. Intercom Fin — automated support resolution

Named application: Fin AI Agent
Operational status: Deployed by named customers in live support environments.

Intercom reports resolution rates that commonly range from approximately 40% to more than 60% for suitable support traffic, with some named customers reporting shorter response times and reduced human ticket volume.

P5 subject

Resolve product-support inquiries using company-specific documentation and hand unresolved cases to support staff.

S3 subject

  • source-grounded answer generation,
  • help-centre ingestion,
  • ticketing integration,
  • resolution classification,
  • human escalation,
  • per-resolution measurement.

Important limitation

The commercially important metric—“resolution rate”—is defined and measured by the product supplier. A conversation counted as resolved is not necessarily equivalent to a correct or durable operational resolution.

Evidence quality: Real customer deployments, but predominantly vendor case-study evidence.

Cases relevant to incident time and integration cost

The evidence becomes weaker when the requirement is narrowed to cross-vendor IT agents or enterprise automation without rebuilding connectors.

Named AIOps products from ServiceNow, Dynatrace, PagerDuty, IBM and BigPanda have customer reports of lower mean time to detect or repair, sometimes on the order of 30–60%. However, most public figures are vendor case studies, and several changes are usually introduced simultaneously:

  • observability consolidation,
  • improved event correlation,
  • new on-call procedures,
  • service ownership changes,
  • automated runbooks,
  • and the AI component itself.

It is therefore difficult to attribute the improvement specifically to an AI agent.

The same problem applies to integration platforms such as Workato, MuleSoft, Boomi, UiPath and Microsoft Power Platform. Named customers frequently report integrations delivered in days rather than months or large reductions in manual processing, but there is rarely a public baseline using the same workflow, team and scope. These are valid production signals, but not yet strong comparative evidence.

Cross-case concept

The successful applications do not share a single industry. They share an operational architecture:

[
\text{Interpret request}
\rightarrow
\text{retrieve authorized context}
\rightarrow
\text{select bounded action}
\rightarrow
\text{execute through an existing system}
\rightarrow
\text{verify result}
\rightarrow
\text{escalate exceptions}
]

This produces a useful separation between P5 and S3.

P5: application innovation

  • Resolve a customer’s payment problem.
  • Complete an employee’s HR request.
  • review a loan contract.
  • help a developer produce code.
  • diagnose an IT incident.
  • prepare compliant adviser follow-up.

S3: shared base

  • identity and authorization,
  • enterprise retrieval,
  • API and workflow connectors,
  • action schemas,
  • telemetry,
  • source attribution,
  • human approval,
  • exception handling,
  • outcome evaluation.

The strongest S3 opportunity is therefore not necessarily a universal autonomous agent. It may be an authorized action-and-evidence layer that can be reused across many agents.

Candidate follow-up R&D themes

A. Outcome-verified support agent

Build a support agent that counts a case as resolved only if downstream evidence confirms the result—for example:

  • refund completed,
  • device reconnected,
  • account status changed,
  • no repeat contact within seven days.

This would improve on current systems that infer resolution from conversation closure.

Testable hypothesis: Outcome-verified training reduces seven-day repeat contacts more than optimizing for nominal conversation-resolution rate.

B. Connector-independent action schema

Represent common business actions as typed semantic operations:

text

Copy
identify_customer
retrieve_entitlement
request_approval
create_refund
update_case
verify_completion

Adapters would translate these operations into Salesforce, ServiceNow, SAP, Workday or custom APIs.

Testable hypothesis: A shared action schema reduces the engineering effort required to move an agent between two enterprise systems by at least 30% compared with separately authored integrations.

C. Incident agent with causal measurement

Deploy the same incident assistant in a stepped-wedge experiment across service teams. Compare:

  • time to detection,
  • time to correct owner,
  • time to mitigation,
  • recurrence within 30 days,
  • unnecessary remediation actions.

Testable hypothesis: The agent’s largest contribution is not faster diagnosis itself, but faster routing to the correct owner and runbook.

D. Governance as an executable layer

Instead of expressing governance only in natural-language policies, compile policy into machine-checkable constraints:

  • which data the agent may read,
  • which actions it may propose,
  • which actions require approval,
  • maximum financial value,
  • required evidence after execution.

Testable hypothesis: Executable authorization rules enable higher automation rates without increasing unauthorized or unrecoverable actions.

E. Shared base versus domain specialization

Implement the same S3 base for three substantially different P5 applications:

  1. customer-service resolution,
  2. employee HR transactions,
  3. IT incident remediation.

Measure the proportion of components reused unchanged.

Testable hypothesis: Identity, retrieval, action logging, approval and evaluation can be shared, while domain-specific connectors and outcome definitions remain the principal customization cost.

Most useful next questions

  1. Which named deployments report pre/post MTTR with incident severity held constant?
  2. Which support-agent studies measure repeat contact and customer outcome, rather than vendor-defined resolution rate?
  3. Which organizations have compared agentic integration with conventional API or RPA development using engineering hours and maintenance cost?
  4. Which systems verify that a downstream transaction actually completed rather than merely generating a plausible response?
  5. What percentage of each deployment is reusable S3 infrastructure, and what percentage remains P5-specific configuration?
  6. Are the reported gains preserved after accounting for human review, exception handling, model inference and integration maintenance?

The present evidence suggests that the commercially validated unit is not yet the “general autonomous enterprise agent.” It is the bounded operational agent connected to authoritative sources and verifiable actions. That is the clearest bridge from the P5 applications to a reusable S3 platform.
